We are judged by the results of our actions, a colleague told me today.
Kept me thinking. We can be judged by the intentions behind our actions, or the actions themselves, regardless of their result.
But I think, what matters most, is not how others will judge us, but how we will judge ourselves.
Have we been consistent with our values? Have we acted ethically? Are our intentions and actions something we can honestly be proud of?
If so, we can disengage from the result, because we have done our best.
